"Lecturers' Lament" by Offor Patience
We surf the net to teach them,
They say we are not original.
We use familiar texts to teach,
They refuse to attend lectures, 'we have the textbook'.
We use an unfamiliar text,
They say we are complicated and our methods are odd.
We add a mark to their 9s,
They say we are stringent.
We do not add marks to upgrade their scores,
They call us names, heartless, wicked, sadists!
We collect money from them in exchange for good grades,
They say we are cheap.
We collect money from them and don't give them their desired grades,
They say we are despicable!
We refuse to collect bribe, they say we are too strict.
